General Description:

Provide services for the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) within Army Community Service. The FAP is responsible to ensure members of the USAG Rheinland-Pfalz (USAG RP) community have access to Family violence (child abuse, spouse abuse, child neglect and child sexual abuse) prevention education and resources.

 

Specific Tasks:

  • Adhere and Implement Procedures and Certification Standards/Certification Records: Serve as point of contact for all certification materials.
  • Maintain Records: Responsible for maintaining records and files incidental to the services provided.
  • Develop Database: Create and maintain a computerized database and spreadsheet which will contain the listing of all units within the Rheinland-Pfalz community, and identify the Commanders, First Sergeants, and Training Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) of each unit as well as the dates of assumption of command/responsibility, change of command/responsibility and date each attended mandatory FAP Commanders/Senior Leaders Training.
  • Monthly Statistics: Compile monthly training statistics for all units within the Rheinland-Pfalz community to include data regarding Incoming Commanders Brief within 45 days of taking command as well as initial and annual Family Advocacy Program (FAP) Domestic Violence and Child Abuse trainings provided to all units.
  • Prepare Correspondence: Prepare and process daily FAP correspondence in accordance with military correspondence regulation.
  • Prepare and Maintain Attendance Rosters: Prepare and maintain attendance rosters for all participants who attend FAP workshops/classes/seminars and training in Army Family Webportal.
  • Marketing. Serve as one of the POCs for FAP marketing to include coordination, development, ordering, delivery and distribution of marketing materials as needed and in coordination with FAP staff.
  • Update Guides: Prepare monthly updates to the FAP Commander’s Guide.
  • Coordinate Meetings: schedule, confirm attendance and attend quarterly Family Advocacy Committee (FAC), Problematic Sexual Behavior-Child and Youth Review Board (PSB-CYRB) and Fatality Review Committee (FRC) meetings.
  • Maintain Orders: Prepare, route for signature, and maintain orders for authorized persons who attend and participate in the Incident Determination Committee, the Family Advocacy Committee, Problematic Sexual Behavior-Child and Youth Review Board (PSB-CYRB) and FRC.
  • Promote Customer Feedback: Promote Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE) website and ICE form usage by clients in general and after each class/workshop in particular.
  • Training: Assist with/facilitate FAP training/classes. All lesson plans are provided by the FAPM.
  • New Commander Training: Track Commanders, First Sergeants and Sergeants Major for recent changes of command.
  • Professional Conduct: Interact with customers and staff in accordance with professional business standards and in compliance with military customs and courtesies.
  • Army Family Web Portal: Create an Army Family web Portal Account and input data.
  • Maintain inventory: Create and maintain a current inventory list of all educational materials in the FAP Resource Library/FAP Resource closet.
  • Purchase Requests: Research and complete purchase requests for training materials, venues, speakers, supplies, and other items as needed to support the Family Advocacy Program.
  • Knowledge of ACS Programs: Develop knowledge of Army Community Service (ACS) programs.
  • Assistance to Victims: Assist with support service to victims of Family violence.
  • Reporting of Imminent Harm and Abuse: If you suspect an imminent harm incident may occur or that a child may have been abused, you are obligated to report suspicions to the Military Police, the reporting point of contact.
  • Digital Work Product Storage: Store all digital work products on the ACS share drive or TEAMS for common access.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the area of Social Work, Psychology, Marriage, Family and Child Counseling, Nursing, Counseling or Behavioral Science, Education or Community/Public Health from an accredited university.
  • Shall have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Family and children’s services or community organization, with experience in the area of Family violence and in the:

(1) Dynamics of child and spouse abuse

(2) Have the Ability to develop and implement a training program

(3) Knowledge of individual and group dynamics

(4) Knowledge of issues and concerns related to the military and the dynamics of abuse in the military Family.

  • Possess the ability to present information orally and in written format (i.e. marketing) in English. Effective interaction with various individuals is imperative. Ability to speak English clearly and with excellent comprehension is essential. Other language skills are a plus.
