Certified Nurse Assistant
Place of Performance: Fort Bliss, TX

 

Specific Tasks:

  • Shall see the patient per hour average of the other collective CPs, unless affected by circumstances beyond their control, which shall be reported to the Section OIC/NCOIC or designee.
  • Shall comply with all MTF productivity standards and maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.
  • Ensure patients entering medical screening are acknowledged and assisted.
  • Maintain adequate flow of waiting areas.
  • Perform vital signs check, note deviations, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Perform blood pressure measurements and record as prescribed by the policy.
  • Clean and restock supplies, forms, and equipment.
  • Clean, disinfect and reassemble instruments in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Observe patient for distress or changes in condition and report abnormalities to Section OIC/NCOIC or designee or other senior nursing/medical personnel.
  • Administer or assist with minor, acute, and routine primary care tasks in the in-service member setting in accordance with SOPs and training rendered under the supervision of a Healthcare Provider (HCP).
  • Perform daily quality control checks on instrumentation and equipment.
  • Recognize and initiate appropriate measures in emergency situations.
  • Document care given. Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with Soldier Readiness Processing Center’s (SRPC) directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required by the policy. Ensure all documentation and reports are legible and complete.
  • Shall complete each encounter at the end of the day and appropriately close the record.
  • Shall assist with clinic/section related administrative tasks.
  • Shall comply with all MTF productivity standards and maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.
  • Shall follow established government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols in the performance of duties as outlined in MTF policies and procedures.
  • Observe service members for distress or changes in condition and report abnormalities to team leader or other senior nursing/medical personnel. Document observations, care given, and service member’s response in the medical record and under the supervision of the Physician, PA or NP.
  • Recognize and initiate appropriate measures in emergency situations.
  • Shall comply with all health requirements, immunizations, and vaccinations.
  • Shall complete all DoD, DHA, and MTF-specified training requirements.
  • Shall personally record hours worked in the Defense Medical Human Resources System – internet (DMHRSi) system, or other system, as required by the MTF.

 

 

Education:

  • Completion a Nursing Assistant school or program of instruction.

 

Certification:

  • A diploma or certificate of training from a Nursing Assistant school or program of instruction.

 

Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of experience within the last three years working as a full-time nursing assistant.

 

 

Additional Certification:

  • Possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. The American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers is the only program accepted. BLS recertification shall be maintained in a current status at all times.
